Downtown Spartanburg was the perfect location for Katie and Zach’s Engagement Session. When we discussed the location for their session, they said they were up for anything I suggested. I had been wanting to do another downtown session for a while, since the last one I had done there had been a family one a few years ago. So, we agreed on downtown Spartanburg and it ended up being a great choice for Katie and Zach’s laid back, fun, easy going personalities!
In Katie’s words about their love story, she said,
“We met at Western Carolina University and became fast friends. Fast forward 3 years and we decided to become roommates. We fell in love during this time and have been inseparable since. His proposal went horribly wrong, our dog died the same day unexpectedly, but it made me love him all the more.”
Hey, I think when you can get through a hard situation together and still love each other, that is always a good sign!! And it definitely was for this couple!
I enjoyed walking around downtown Spartanburg SC with them and getting to know them better. I could tell from the beginning they were going to be a fun couple to work with who liked to laugh, have fun, and just enjoyed being together!
You may have also noticed that the couples I’m photographing now for their Engagement Sessions are having two different outfits during the session. This is something new I’ve started implementing and requesting for my couples to do – have one more casual outfit and one more dressy outfit. This gives the Engagement Session two totally different feelings and looks for the session, and I love seeing the variety that my couples have come up with so far! Katie’s light green dress (with pockets!) went so great with the different brick and building colors of downtown Spartanburg! And of course Zach’s light blue dress shirt complemented it all as well!! Katie’s more casual outfit of her shirt with the floral pattern and ruffles also went so well with the greenery and flowers we found all around downtown that evening too!
Katie and Zach are getting married in an intimate family ceremony at Old Edwards Inn in NC on December 12th of this year. Although I won’t be along to capture their wedding day, I’m so thankful I got the chance to give them these memories of their time of being engaged. They are another couple who has gone through the engagement season during a worldwide pandemic, and having an evening to just enjoy each other and be engaged is hopefully just what they needed among all the chaos of the past few months! Congrats Katie and Zach! I enjoyed your downtown Spartanburg SC Engagement Session!
