I am finally getting to share Robert and Gloria’s Inman, SC wedding!! Robert and Gloria were married on a beautiful Spring day, April 14, 2018. But before I get to the wedding day details, let me first introduce them with their engagement pictures. We did a Mini-Engagement Session so I could get to know them and they could get to know me. Gloria shared with me that they first met when she was 15 and he was 18 at a church gathering. “He was my best friend for five years before we started dating.”
It was definitely apparent to me that Gloria and Robert were best friends. Throughout both their engagement session and their wedding day, laughter and fun was a huge theme. You will be able to see from the pictures I share how much fun they and their family and friends had together. I couldn’t help but smile when being around them, and I think most anyone would agree who has met them!
When I arrived, Gloria was busy getting ready with the girls at the church. There was definitely a sense of happy anticipation in the room for what was about to happen that day! Lots of laughter was heard from beginning to end on this beautiful day!
Meanwhile at a house a couple blocks away Robert was finishing getting ready with his groomsmen and groomslady!
I was sure to sneak in some pictures of all the beautiful details Gloria had gathered for her day too. One of my favorites was her ruby red shoes that she wore! I highlighted these some too when I took her Bridal Photos in downtown Inman, SC several weeks previously.
Although for her Bridal Photos she had worn a different pair of red shoes, and decided after walking around on those for an hour that she wanted a more comfortable pair for the wedding day with not quite as high of a heel. Another great reason to have a Bridal Session, because the bride gets to do a run-through with getting ready in her dress, shoes, hair, veil, and makeup. If you realize something isn’t working the way you want, then you have time to change it before the wedding day!
*And just a little side note here, Gloria’s wedding dress was bought at The Goodwill! Did she luck out or what with a perfect, beautiful dress for her, but also affordable? Gloria’s Mother is starting up her own Wedding Dress Rental business, which was born out of her experience of shopping for a wedding dress with her daughter. When they found out how expensive wedding dresses are, the idea was born to offer brides a chance to rent their dress, just like a groom can rent his tuxedo. After everyone was finished getting ready, one of my favorite parts of the day happened . . . Robert and Gloria’s first look!! They chose to do a first look so they could have a private moment to see each other first before the ceremony, and then be able to actually spend their wedding day together!! In their classic Robert and Gloria style, they had a fun time with their first look too!!
Plus then we had time for extra bride and groom portrait time, which is also a favorite of mine on a wedding day! And as you can tell, these two were naturals in front of the camera. Such a beautiful couple!
Doing a first look also allowed us time to do all of the wedding party and family photos before the ceremony too. Robert and Gloria had such a fun group of bridesmaids and groomsmen to help them celebrate their special day. And of course their family was happy and proud to be a part of their special day too.
Then once we finished family photos, it was time to head to the ceremony! Robert and Gloria chose to have their ceremony at the Inman Theatre, which her parents own and operate. They even had their own featured sign out front!! The ceremony was full of special moments and reminders about what love and marriage is all about. Several members of their wedding party sang and spoke during the ceremony too, making it all the more special! Their ceremony also included a candlelit time where the wedding party went down into the audience and spread the candle light to all of their guests in attendance. Such a beautiful touch, especially in the theater setting!
After the ceremony was complete, we headed out to do a few more special bride and groom married portraits around downtown Inman, SC. Included in these first few photos, were some with their dog, Leia, a special member of their family of course!
And then it was time to get to the reception!!! There was some good food from Fatz awaiting us, so we wanted to get there quickly for sure!! In the reception, Gloria and Robert visited with their guests and enjoyed their family and friends who had come to help celebrate them on their wedding day. Gloria and her bridesmaids even did a debut karaoke song together, and just had a fun time together singing! Then there was the garter throw and another garter throw by Gloria (since she and her bridesmaids had carried lanterns instead of bouquets.) The cake cutting was also a highlight, as their rose petal-lined table accented the beautiful and delicious cake! And let’s not forget the memorable father/daughter dance and bride/groom dance to finish out the evening.
When it was time to go, Gloria and Robert’s family and friends lined the walkway out of Inman Methodist Church, where the reception was held, and complemented their exit with a bubble send-off!! They drove away in a convertible with the top down to finish out a wonderful Spring wedding day!
It was an absolute honor and privilege to be a part of Robert and Gloria’s wedding day. I’m so thankful they asked me to document their special day, and I enjoyed getting to know them and their families throughout their wedding photography experience. Congratulations to the newlyweds! I know they will keep on having fun together and laughing together throughout their marriage, which is a great thing to have. Never lose your joy, laughter, and love for each other!! Congratulations again!!
