When I first heard that Hannah and Joe wanted to do a Pretty Place Engagement Session, I was so excited! I have been to Pretty Place at Camp YMCA many times over the years, and have second shot many weddings there. However, I hadn’t had the opportunity to do my own session there yet, so I was thrilled at the chance!
I loved getting to know Hannah and Joe more in a zoom call we had to find out their goals for their photography, and it seemed like we would be a good match to work together. I especially loved that Hannah said some of their favorite things to do were experimenting with coffee and trying new restaurants – two of my favorite things too!!
In Hannah’s words about her and Joe’s story, “We met in college at Georgia State University in Atlanta in a class that I was only in by accident! We hit it off and started dating almost right away. However Joe had already planned to transfer to UGA the next year, thus beginning our long-distance chapter. I’ve been rooted in Atlanta finishing school and beginning my career as Joe worked to become a journalist. After college he moved to Columbus, GA and then to Greenville, SC to work as a news anchor. It’s been tough at times, but we’ve loved exploring new towns and meeting new people. . . . After 8 years of dating, we got engaged last December at the Biltmore and have been excitedly planning our wedding since I wrapped up my master’s degree early this year.”
I really liked how Joe brought his Bible along, something that was important to them. I was able to incorporate it into some pictures with the two of them and with Hannah’s ring on it. Personal, meaningful items always make a session even more unique and creative. I love that!
For the second half of the Engagement Session, Hannah and Joe changed into their more casual outfits. I really like being able to give couples two different looks from their session! And little did we know, by the end of the session, we had some gorgeous sunset skies to complement their outfit colors too!
Hannah and Joe, it was an absolute pleasure getting to meet you both for your Pretty Place Engagement Session and get to help you celebrate this special time in your lives! I hope you enjoy these pictures for years to come!
