South Carolina Spring Wedding – Kaelyn + Brad

Weddings

back

I was so honored to be a part of Kaelyn and Brad’s Spring wedding in Taylors, South Carolina this past Saturday.  I met Kaelyn and Brad through being referred to them by another photographer in the area, and I’m so happy they contacted me!

Kaelyn and Brad met at New Covenant Christian Fellowship, so it was only fitting that they get married at church.  While they were not able to have their ceremony at the same church they met in, they had it at Springwell Church in Taylors, South Carolina and it turned out to be such a pretty venue for both the ceremony and the reception.

It was such a God honoring ceremony.  I loved the symbolism of them braiding the three different ribbons together, acknowledging God at the center of their marriage and relationship.

Even though I had already learned a little bit about Brad and Kaelyn through emailing back and forth and meeting with them prior to their wedding, it was still nice to get to know them even better through spending time around them and their families and friends on their wedding day.  Being a Christian myself, it’s always nice to meet fellow believers who you can tell live out their faith and have such a deep desire to honor God at the start of their marriage, and this is just what this couple did!

Brad and Kaelyn had already gotten their engagement pictures done before I met them, so we hadn’t had any experience getting to work together with posing, but as you can see from their photos it wasn’t a problem at all!  They were both naturals in front of the camera, and obviously they were so happy about being married and celebrating this special day together I didn’t have to work too hard to get them smiling for me at all.

I learned through corresponding with Kaelyn before the wedding that Brad asked her to marry him in October 2016 at Bald Rock at sunrise.  Apparently he had originally planned to propose at a different location at sunset the night before, but when they arrived there was already another couple there and the mosquitoes were out, so he waited. The next morning they drove to Bald Rock, at Kaelyn’s suggestion for a pretty place for a sunrise, and he surprised her and got down on one knee and asked, “Will you make me the happiest man on earth?” Right after that the sun rose and a lady in the upper rocks above them began singing a beautiful song.  It must’ve just been God’s perfect timing for him to do it the next morning at sunrise instead, I wish I could’ve been there to see that scene unfold!  How perfect!

Brad and Kaelyn had such a nice wedding party group too, and they were so great to walk around with me after the ceremony outside the building to search out the green areas we could find for some of the portraits before heading back in for the reception.  I loved how the bridal party did everything I asked them to do, and we had a fun time together.  They made me laugh especially when Brad had the idea to do a “jump shot.”  We decided for the bridal party to look on from behind while Brad and Kaelyn jumped.  It was so fun! I love a couple and bridal party who is up for a little fun and laughter!

As you can see, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Brad and Kaelyn’s wedding and was so thankful for this opportunity to photograph another couple’s wedding story.  I really consider it a privilege to be let in to my couple’s lives to celebrate with them on such a special day in their lives.
