Victoria and Michael’s Converse College Spartanburg wedding on October 6th was the perfect way to start out my Fall wedding season.

It was beautiful weather, not too hot, not too cold, and took place at and around the gorgeous Phifer Hall at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC.  I don’t live far from Converse at all, but had never had the privilege to shoot a wedding there before.  It really was just a perfect setting, so I hope it will not be my last!  (Anyone else getting married at Converse College and looking for a Spartanburg wedding photographer??  I’m your girl!! 🙂 . When I arrived, Victoria had all of her details and her dress all set up for me in a beautiful window upstairs.  I got right to work photographing all of her details for the important day.  When it was time for her to get into her dress, her Mom helped her and then her bridesmaids helped with the finishing touches.

Victoria and Michael chose a traditional timeline for their day, and opted to not do a first look.  So, we tried to do as many bridesmaid and groomsmen photos and a few family photos before the ceremony to save time.

It was definitely a special moment when Victoria walked out of Phifer Hall and down the long porch to the aisle to meet her groom.  Michael could see her from afar and got to really take in his beautiful bride walking up to him.  Their ceremony was very heartfelt from the beginning when Victoria had a whole group of important family and friends pledge to give her away, all the way through their vows, and their final kiss!!  Their beautiful daughter, Luna, also was the most adorable flower girl too!

After the ceremony, we took more important family and friend photos in front of the fountain outside Phifer Hall at Converse College.  The fountain with the decorated arch was just a perfect setting for both the ceremony and family photos afterwards.  I was able to then take the whole wedding party around to a couple more spots for photos – the greenhouse, the staircase inside Phifer Hall, and out on the front lawn in front of the porch for the always fun “jump shot”! 🙂 I think this wedding party’s jump shot is one of the best I’ve ever seen!!

Then before getting into the reception, my favorite time on wedding days came – the bride and groom photo time.  All the parts of a wedding day are special and important, but there’s just something about the time when it’s only the two of you, a new husband and wife, to just take a moment and enjoy each other amidst the hustle of the wedding day.  We were losing light quickly in the evening, so I really only had about 12 minutes to fit these portraits in, but as you can see Michael and Victoria rocked their bride and groom portraits!  They were patient with me as I squeezed every opportunity we had to getting them more portraits.  Hopefully they will think it was all worth it!

Victoria and Michael were introduced into the reception and went right into their first dance in the lobby at Converse College’s Phifer Hall.  All of their guests gathered on the stairwell to see them share their first dance to “Stand by Me.”  Then it was onto eating, visiting, cutting the cake, bouquet toss, garter throw, and more dancing to enjoy the rest of the night!

Although I had not even had a chance to meet Victoria and Michael in person before their wedding day, by the end of the day I felt that I knew them.  They were both so welcoming to me, along with all of their family and friends.  I truly enjoyed getting to capture their special wedding day memories in photos.  Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day photography experience!  Congratulations on your marriage!  I hope you will enjoy your photos for years to come.
